The topic for this weeks fashion Friday is a profile piece on Coco Chanel. Coco Chanel, a businesswoman and fashion designer, is someone I find as an irreplaceable figure in the world of fashion. As she said so herself,
In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.
Her designs are timeless and have a sense of sophistication that can not be replicated. The brand itself has evolved into a house name where everyone strives to have a Chanel piece, whether it be a purse, dress, or the famous Chanel no.5.
As previously seen in my post before, the little black dress, or LBD was one of her revolutionary designs that was created in the 1920s. The little black dress was to show that a woman can be elegant in a darker color that was once mainly associated with mourning. The suit and the well-fitted skirt were also introduced as more comfortable designs to woman and allowed them to rid of tight-fitting clothing that restricted movements.
