Nasty Galaxy is on my list of favorite books to read, and look at. ( It has that coffee table aesthetic that I’m crazy about. ) A little bit of facts about Sophia Amoruso is that she is the founder and CEO of Nasty Gal. The company started off with Sophia selling vintage clothing on her eBay store. After much success on the platform she was unexpectedly shut down. However, she did have a popular MySpace account to keep track of customers, and was soon in business selling vintage clothing to cool gals, hence the birth of the popular and super cool store, Nasty Gal. She released two books, one being #GirlBoss and Nasty Galaxy.
Nasty Galaxy is a great collection of photographs, info and tidbits of advice. Most importantly she celebrates woman with their accomplishments, achievements as well as any obstacles or challenges that they have faced in their life. I know for myself personally this advice resonates with me. She shows the raw and beautiful side to what she has done and explains the glamour of it too. The topics range from love, music, thrifting and to staying humble. The pictures are colorful, bright and altogether, her. There isn’t much writing as there was in #GirlBoss, but the message is still there to be a total Boss. The book can be found at Barnes and Noble for $37.00
I thoroughly enjoy Sophia Amoruso and her writings. I think that her voice is very honest and raw. She describes exactly how she is feeling and does not let anything hold her back. I find her inspirational as she rose from the bottom and created her own success, dealing with naysayers, turbulence and every other obstacle that you can face. She is such a bad ass who stood for something when others didn’t think it was that great; that my friend is a total definition of a Girl Boss.
