The beloved Paris fashion week is coming to a close and as much as I would love to say I am there experiencing it. I am sadly not. Instead, I am wrapped in blankets typing about it while simultaneously watching runway videos of it. Also I have been spying the new trends from designers on Instagram. Technically I am there, just in spirit. Hey, a girl can dream.
Paris fashion week screamed glitz, glamour and high fashion. Today was the last day of the show, and it came to a satisfying end. Editors, bloggers, writers, and other fashion mavens most likely left Paris feeling satisfied with this years newest season. Designers such as Saint Laurent, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and many, many more had showcased their fall line. Yes, I did just say “the fall line” because fashion is way ahead of the game. What happens is that all designers showcase their ready-to-wear fall collection in the spring, and then in the fall they show their future spring line. Let me just say from the looks of the clothing, the 80s styles are making a comeback. Spandex was widely seen across the runways from a couple of designers, as well as the bold colors in both areas of makeup and fashion. Also, if any of you were curious of the color of the season it will most likely be blue. I wear this color constantly since it’s my favorite color, so I have been above trends for ages now, and will be behind trends too since I refuse to wear anything else. Oh well.
Another big trend that was sprinkled all over the runway were oversized sleeves. This sleeve trend is bigger than our ambitions, and personally my bank account. We can see coats, shirts, jackets getting this added upgrade whether we like it or not. To be completely honest, I’ll keep my normal size sleeves on my coat, and I will opt for a bell-sleeve on a bohemian top.
