Ever get dressed in the morning and look in the mirror and think “Hm, I’m missing something?” I have had that thought on more than one occasion, which is why I believe in the importance of accessorizing.
You don’t need expensive jewelry, or Egyptian silk scarves to look good. All you need are a few staple accessories that you like and what makes you feel confident, whether from Target, Macy’s, eBay or the local thrift shop. When I say you don’t have to break the bank for accessories, I honestly mean it. Target has a great selection of jewelry that is stylish, and affordable. You can even support your local artists by buying on Etsy! Plus, a lot of items they offer are usually one-of-a-kind that you wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else. Also, I know I talk about target a lot and always refer to it, but I’m obsessed with the store. Seriously, I think I find myself in there constantly. One day, I’m driving to work and the next minute I’m walking in one of the aisles with a cart full of makeup, chocolate, and candles.
Play by the rule of three
The most important piece of advice to take away is to play with the rule of three, and make one stand out. If you have a statement necklace, play it up by only wearing studs or small hoops instead of larger earrings. When it comes to accessories, I believe it is all about making a statement.
High and Low
If you have a high neckline, like a turtleneck, a smaller earring may compliment it better than large, chunky earrings. However, it always pays to try the look yourself and to see if the accessories will overpower the look, or pull it all together. Usually, small hoops with a high neckline look classic, and large skinny hoops or a dangle earring add flair to the ensemble. Technically, if you have a high neckline you really wouldn’t need a necklace. With a lower neckline, like a strapless top or dress, you can really play with different lengths for earrings. Who knew dressing up could be so much fun? Whatever your outfit dictates make it your own, unique look.
Also, down below I carefully picked out some earrings that I think anyone can look good in.
