Today is one of those holidays where advertisements and the media hype up the fact that you should be spending your day solely with a significant other and you should be spending oodles of money on them. Well, I have news for you, that is so not the case. Personally, I think Valentine’s Day should be spent with friends, family, your dog or your cat. Not in the sense you have to be romantic, but solely expressing that you appreciate them and you love them. If you do have a significant other, by all means spend the day with them, and tell them how much they mean to you and how you are happy that they are in your life. Most importantly, you should celebrate Valentine’s Day for yourself. Buy yourself chocolate, reward yourself with a movie, and appreciate who you are. You are alive, you make mistakes, but you’re here. Now eat that chocolate.
